Description
Mardi Gras in New Orleans is celebrated weeks before "fat Tuesday" with parades, Crewe floats and dances. The Crewe members riding the floats throw trinkets and loads of strings of beads to the crowds. A daughter visiting in the French Quarter in February of 2016 snapped many pictures. This painting is from one of those pictures. Hanging beads over the fence was a very unique idea of what to do with all those beads caught by passing floats. New Orleans loves their Mardi Gras. Great fun. dals

Thanks for the comment Bonnie. My daughter on a visit to New Orleans loves walking through the Quarter snapping pictures. This year New Orleans out did their selves changing their homes into a Mardi Gras float——many, many paintings to attempt. dals

Thank you Miami for the order on the “Mardi Gras Beads” shirt. This looks very colorful on heather color shirt. They wash up very nice. Enjoy! Also appreciate your order on the shirt showing the Mardi Gras float “Throw Me Something Mister” & the pouche “Evening on the Bay”. I love Miami and loved living in N.O. many years ago. It was the highlight celebration returning for my 80th birthday. Very sad there will be no Mardi Gras this year due to Covid. dals
