Artist's Description

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 469 mile mountain range from Northern Virginia connecting to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park in North Carolina. The Skyline drive is a two-lane road accessible at various points. It is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful drive with pull-off overlooks. There are about 125 peaks exceeding 5,000 feet (1,500 meter) in elevation with Mt. Mitchell, NC reaching 6,684 feet. Be sure to have a map and weather report before traveling the Parkway which has no commercial stores, billboards and few signs.
