Thanks Bonnie for viewing a rainy day at the Market. It was fun to paint & hope to have more shots of the renovations of a very unique area & new amphitheater. "dals"

A uniquely lovely depiction of Roanoke's City Market, Douglas Ann! v/f

Artist's Description

The Roanoke City Market was the first building completed in 1886 as the center for the oldest open air market in Virginia. The original building was destroyed by fire and this present building was built in 1922. The ground floor has a food court of local vendors. This unique farmer's market has tables of fruits, vegetables, breads, sweets, flowers, plants, handcrafts and more. And many museums are housed across the street in "Center in the Square" and the "Taubman Art Museum" is located behind this building. Allot of activities of interest.

Moving onto Aberdeen, Scotland in 1978 I joined the Women's Petroleum Club art group which was being taught by persons from Gray's School of Art. I attended evening classes at Gray's School which was overwhelming & enjoyable. Returning to the USA in 1984 I mostly continued china painting initiated...
